About us

A basement waterproofing company working on houses between the escarpment and Nottawasaga Bay. What follows is how we work and what we will not do — everything else is on the pages that describe the actual repairs.

Scope

What we do, and what we do not

We fix wet basements in Collingwood and the towns around it: interior drainage systems, exterior waterproofing and excavation, foundation crack injection, weeping tile replacement and sump pits and pumps. That is the whole list. We are not a general renovation company and we do not finish basements — we make them dry enough that somebody else can.

Diagnosis before product

Every service page on this site describes when its own method is the wrong choice. That is deliberate.

Everything in writing

Scope, exclusions and price on paper before a date is booked.

Local work only

Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, The Blue Mountains and Clearview. Close enough to come back.

Quoting

How we quote

Every quote follows an on-site assessment, and the assessment is free because a price given over the phone for this work is a guess.

The written scope names the walls, the method, the materials in the trench, what gets reinstated and what does not. If two methods would both work, both are described with the trade-off, and the cheaper one is not hidden.

What we will not do

  • Quote a system without seeing the basement.
  • Sell exterior excavation where an interior system solves the same problem for less, or the reverse.
  • Inject a crack in a wall that is still moving instead of telling you to get an engineer.
  • Put a coating on a wet wall and call it waterproofing.
  • Pressure anybody into signing on the day of the visit.

The assessment starts at the front door and ends with a written price — not the other way round.

Ground

Why the local ground matters to us

Which repair is correct depends on what your house is sitting in, and within twenty minutes of Collingwood there are three different answers to that: post-glacial clay across the lowlands, sand along the Wasaga shoreline, and thin soil over rock up the escarpment. A company working the same script in all three gets it wrong in two of them. Our assessment starts with the ground and works up to the wall.

Want a straight answer about your own wall? The assessment costs nothing.
